Training Objectives

* To enable the student/learner to understand and produce (orally and written) common idiomatic constructions used in formal and informal contexts in Bahasa Indonesia.
* To enable the student/learner to read and understand simple paragraphs with limited and familiar words.
* To enable the student/learner to maintain formal, as well as informal two-way simple conversations with Indonesians.

Language Items

* Idiomatic constructions for various contexts, including but not limited to: introducing oneself; making simple comparison; making invitations, requests, commands, and prohibitions; expressing agreements and disagreements.
* Question words structure, including making and responding simple questions.
* Selected vocabularies for daily communications.
* Cultural notes, mostly about how to build culturally-appropriate communications in Bahasa Indonesia.

Language Skills

* Making introductions of oneself and others.
* Asking and giving direction(s).
* Handling (making and receiving) telephone calls.
* Dealing with domestic staff.
* Simple bargaining.
* Maintaining simple two-way communications.

Expected training duration: 60-90 hours
